Installers who built their own tracker
Bridges Engineering is a renewable energy company based at Tecnopolo d’Abruzzo in L’Aquila, Italy, led by the engineers Ferdinando Ponticelli and Francesco Crisi. We build solar plants and energy efficiency projects, and since 2011 we have been developing a dual-axis solar tracker of our own: design, structure, drive and control.
What we do
- Solar trackers
- We design and build the Sun Bridges 2AX dual-axis tracker: structure, pole, drive and control cabinet.
- Solar plants
- We design and install turnkey solar plants, with storage and EV charging: design, permits, grid connection, commissioning and maintenance.
- Energy efficiency
- Work to consume less and make better use of the energy you produce.
- Remote monitoring
- Every tracker stays connected to the SunBridges platform after installation: we keep an eye on it, and so does its owner.
How we got here
2011
Bridges Engineering is founded, and work on the tracker begins, funded by our plant installation business.
2019-2024
One of our large trackers runs for five years at an energy research centre in Catania, Sicily.
2026
The new generation is born: control cabinet, SunBridges platform and Sun Bridges app, designed together with the machine.
October 2026
We move to Tecnopolo d’Abruzzo in L’Aquila and start producing the Sun Bridges 2AX, with a plan of 1.5 million euros of investment and about 35 new hires over three years. The first new-generation tracker is already at work here.

Where we are
